American River Wellness Recovery is a specialized center that offers comprehensive services in the return to duty process, serving as a Department of Transportation (DOT) certified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) counselor. The center ensures that employees are able to return to safety-sensitive positions, such as operating school buses, planes, oil tankers, trains, subway cars, and natural gas pipelines, in a safe and timely manner. American River Wellness Recovery is an advocate for public safety and is dedicated to providing employees and employers with the best support and education to help them navigate the return to duty process. As a neutral party, their role is to protect the public interest by recommending appropriate education, treatment, follow-up tests, and aftercare for the employee. In addition to their DOT-SAP services, American River Wellness Recovery also provides court-ordered evaluations for criminal and family court matters in California and out of state.
